A truly unique textbook, prepared by a team of teachers of the Department of Drawing at the oldest academic institution of Russia - St.Petersburg Institute of Repin (aka Russian Academy of Arts), one of the main achievements of which is considered to be the drawing. The effectiveness of teaching drawing at the Academy today remains exemplary. The curriculum, evolved and refined over many decades was formed by outstanding artists and teachers such as P. Belousov, A. Debler, A. Korolev, O. Eremeev and many others. The book contains more than 30 scientific articles with illustrations about the peculiarities of the implementation of educational tasks that continue the current practice of exchange of teaching experience. Many pedagogical developments of various creative workshops are presented in the updated form. Training in drawing programs is presented on examples from the departments of painting, graphics, sculpture and architecture, and department of art theory. But the main advantage of the book are examples of academic work performed by students of the Academy. These are the best, by far, samples that are stored in the methodological archives of the Institute. Regardless of the time of their creation, they are marked as highly professional and relevant to modern requirements of higher art school.
