THE ROLE OF ANATOMY IN TRAINING MASTER ARTISTS

In this afternoon seminar, Marshall Vandruff demonstrates how masters draw the human figure from imagination. He compares anatomical plates with finished paintings to show that mastery of the figure requires at least two skills: understanding anatomy and inventing forms. The lecture includes nearly 200 slides with commentary. In the 2nd half, students will take time to "draw notes" from the masters.
