Harry ...or hobbit?

Just wanted to share this odd but hilarious photo of Daniel Radcliff being dwarfed by Katie Holmes at the Tony Awards.  The producers didn't seem to take their heights into consideration when pairing them up to present the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress (which went to Scarlett Johansson).

Katie actually had to bend down to reach the microphone to talk!  Poor Daniel looks so embarrassed and unhappy on stage!

Spell of the Day:

"Descendo" - To make things sink or go down.  Hmmm, you think this could've been a relevant spell for poor Harry here?  He must've forgotten his wand at home, otherwise I'm sure we would've seen Katie standing in a lil pothole on stage.

Emma Watson for Burberry

Attention all Hermione or Emma fans!  If you haven't been in a mall with a Burberry store or looked in a recent Burberry catalogue, then you may have missed Emma's beautiful face featured in the latest fashion shoot for Burberry!  She looks absolutely fantastic not to mention all the fabulous trench coats and bags that she's modeling.  It almost makes me want to cash out my IRA just to buy that magnificent $3,000 jacket!

The ads were shot earlier this year and immediately caught fire in the media due to a poorly positioned photo with her and her brother Alex.  The photo received a heap of criticism for a botched up photoshop job because Emma's right leg appears to have disappeared behind her brother's leg.  Of course, it can be argued that her leg is simply well hidden behind Alex's, but to most people's first glance, the photo just looks off.  However, shortly after this debacle, a video clip was released clearly showing that Emma's leg was INDEED hidden behind Alex's, and not the result of a photoshop mishap.

What do you think?

Leg or No leg?

Some of Emma's other photos

And here's a Behind-the-Scenes video of her shoot

Spell of the Day:

"Avis" - Creates a flock of birds that pour forth from the caster's wand.  Hermione was seen using this spell in Half-Blood Prince , creating a halo of little sparrows around her head.  It would have been a nice touch to some of these photos, perhaps it would've helped Emma crack a bigger smile in a few of them.

Answer to the last Trivia Question:
Hermione found out that Rita Skeeter was an unregistered animagus ( a beetle) and was eavesdropping on a lot of private conversations in her transfigured form.  This is of course against the law so Hermione used this information to blackmail Rita.

New Art Submission: Bob Doucette

Take a look at this new art submission by the talented artist, Bob Doucette

Its a wonderful depiction of the infamous Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Order of Merlin: First Class, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, and Grand Sorcerer.  Despite the fancy titles, he was most known for his defeat of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, the discovery of the 12 uses of dragon's blood, and his alchemy work with his long time friend, Nicholas Flamel.

However, this powerful wizard had alot more skeletons hidden in his closet, as was revealed in The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore by Rita Skeeter.

Trivia of the Day:

What did Hermione discover about Rita Skeeter in order to blackmail her from writing any more lies about Harry Potter in The Prophet?

Answer to the last Trivia Question:

Ron's first broom was the Shooting Star and was later given a Cleansweep 11 after making Prefect!

Photos from Deathly Hallows Epilogue

Photos from the filming of the Deathly Hallows Epilogue has been flooding the web this past week.  The surviving characters from the last book are shown sending off their children to Hogwarts at King's Cross Station.

The characters are seen in old age makeup, 19 years into the future. If you haven't read the last book, I apologize for the spoiler!  Don't scroll down anymore if you don't want to see who lives !

***************************

Okay, if you're still here, then you either read the book or you just couldn't resist!

The male characters all look significantly older, while the female characters, particularly Hermione, barely look like she aged at all!  Which got me to wondering, if this is supposed to be 19 years later, that would make them all about 37 years old.
Everyone starts Hogwarts at age 11, they attend school for 7 years making them 18 when they graduate.  The last book takes place during the last school year, so 18 + 19 yrs later = 37.

Is it just me or do the male characters look more like they're 50+, rather than 37?  I hope my future significant other doesn't look like that at age 37!

Spell of the Day:

"Wingardium Leviosa" - The infamous spell Harry used to defeat the troll in The Sorcerer's Stone.  The spell levitates an object, which can definitely come in handy for people of old age who may not be able to bend down to pick up things anymore.

New Art Submission: Adam McDaniel

Check out this new submission from artist Adam McDaniel of Harry Potter enjoying a breathtaking flight on his broom.  Harry's exceptional flying skills have gotten him out of many troublesome situations, not to mention a few Quidditch victories.

Inspired by the late artist, Maxfield Parrish, you'll be able to see distinct similarities between Parrish's work and the presentation of this piece.   Parrish was famous for the "dazzling luminous colors" that is signature in most of his artwork, including a shade called "Parrish Blue".

A wonderful piece, thank you Adam!

Trivia of the Day:

What model broom did Harry's best friend Ron Weasley start with and what model broom did he upgrade to after becoming Prefect in Order of the Phoenix?
