Artist Submission: Anna Chambers

Anna Chambers sent us photos of her Catbus and Totoro plushies!

Catbus measures 27 inches tall from ears to tail, and the removable Totoro is Velcroed on--making quite a whimsical, almost inseparable pair.

Exhibition Update

Dear Blogosphere,

We are sorry to say that the Studio Ghibli Tribute Exhibition had to be canceled as per request of the Ghibli team. Thus, as fans of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, we fully respect their position, and are sorry to inform you that we will no longer have a physical exhibition on August 14th. Instead, please check out Moonshine, which features the personal work of DreamWorks artists, and Eye Witness Reports!, an art show/book signing with contemporary children's book illustrators--totalling over 70 artists!

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you at the opening reception!

Artist Submission: Bella Sinclair

This lovely submission titled "Butterflies and Dragonflies" comes to us from Bella Sinclair.

Here's what she had to say: "I am completely enamored by the works of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. My dream job would have been to work at Studio Ghibli in any capacity. Heck, I'd have been their happy janitor if they asked me."

Be sure to check out her Blogspot (AKA her Doodlespot) for more fabulous work! She has some equally whimsical pieces, featuring jellyfish-riding elephants and playful bunny rabbits.

Thanks so much for sharing, Bella!

Artist Submission: Bong Redila

Bong Redila brings us this beautiful Ghibli-inspired piece titled "Hide and Seek." He says, "The very first Ghibli film that I saw was Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind on VHS format way back in the early 80's, and it blew my mind. I loved it but not in the way that I fell in love with My Neighbor Totoro...maybe because I am so nostalgic about my simple life as a young kid."

Artist Submission: Angie Hu

Art Center College of Design student Angie Hu recently redesigned the characters, props, and backgrounds of Spirited Away for a class assignment. Any guesses as to who these characters might be?
