Rishikesh George by Felt Mistress

We are SO excited to welcome back to Nucleus Louise Evans and Jonathan Edwards for the All Together Now exhibit. Working together under the name Felt Mistress, the two of them create an impressive family of beautifully crafted felt creatures. Both huge fans of The Beatles, the duo was anxious to get to work on something spectacular for our 50th Anniversary Tribute. We would like to introduce you to "Rishikesh George", a truly stunning felt sculpture of Beatles lead guitarist, George Harrison; complete with sitar and of course, the all-seeing eye.

To view more behind the scenes photos of Felt Mistress creating George, visit the links above.
And to meet "Rishikesh George" in person, join us on Saturday, July 7th!

Good Rocky's Revival by Cuddly Rigor Mortis

Exhibiting artist Kristin Tercek, aka Cuddly Rigor Mortis, chose to honor her favorite Beatles tune of all time, "Rocky Raccoon". She says that no matter what, the song always brings a smile to her face. Well, Kristin has definitely brought smiles to our faces with this adorable and masterfully detailed piece. The artist has even shared a delightful time lapse video of her progress while painting "Good Rocky's Revival". Check it out below!

Octopus's Garden by Alina Chau

This vibrant and lively watercolor tribute to Ringo's masterpiece, "Octopus's Garden" was painted by exhibiting artist and Beatles fan, Alina Chau

FUN FACT: Ringo recorded himself blowing bubbles into a glass of water in order to create the bubbling sounds of the ocean that can be heard on the track.

You'll be able to check out this piece up close and personal at our opening reception on July 7th! Come by to enjoy Beatles tribute artwork from OVER 80 artists as well as plenty of Beatles fan fun!

BEATLEMANIA!

Beatlemania | Jeff Victor

We can't possibly pay tribute to The Beatles without showing some love to the swarms of hysterical fan girls who fueled the Beatlemania era with their faints, screams and sobs. This hilarious submission depicting a group of Beatlemania girls comes from Nickelodeon Games Character Designer, Jeff Victor

While Jeff's piece may seem absolutely comical, it is actually quite spot-on. Here are a few real life fan girls causing mayhem at various Beatles concerts between 1963-1965:

Ah, to be a Beatles fan in the 60's. Can you imagine the hysteria?

A Day In The Life

A Day In The Life | John Malloy

Exhibiting artist John Malloy was kind enough to indulge us with this preview of his tribute to the Beatles' iconic "A Day In The Life". This song is one of the most memorable pieces recorded by the group and was also probably the most lavish. The song contains a performance by a 41-piece orchestra and was created by merging two songs written by John and Paul separately.

We adore Malloy's brilliantly colored and masterfully lined depiction of Lennon breathing those unforgettable words, "Oh, boy", as he witnesses haunting world news. Lennon always said that reading two tragic articles in a morning newspaper inspired his part of the song.

Be sure to check back soon! :) We'll be posting some exciting opening reception details and of course more great artist submissions!
